Mr. Wendrovsky has represented numerous rent controlled, rent stabilized, Section 8, NYCHA, HUD, Mitchell-Lama, HDFC and other rent-regulated tenants, occupants, sub-tenants, roommates and licensees in a variety of non-payment and holdover proceedings, and transactions, including surrenders (buyouts), relocations and exchanges of rent-regulated apartments.
Mr. Wendrovsky handles all types of holdover cases, including succession rights, non-primary residence, licensee, nuisance, drugs, vacating of stipulations, rent overcharges (roommate and subleasing), superintendent, and pet matters. Mr. Wendrovsky attempts to resolve each matter, if possible, without excessive litigation, and routinely prepares and assists client in the negotiation of residential agreements, including stipulations of settlement and a variety of surrender agreements. When necessary, he prosecutes or defends all the way through trial, and on appeal. Mr. Wendrovsky represents both coop apartment tenants and condominium unit owners, and small and mid-sized cooperative corporations and condominium associations.
He litigates through and post-trial cases involving technical issues of law concerning rent control and rent stabilization, NYCHA, Section 8 housing and Housing Development Fund Companies(HDFC).
Mr. Wendrovsky also assists landlords/owners of small residential buildings within the City of New York in the preparation and filing of building and apartment registrations required by DHCR regulations.
